I am so glad I came back to this duology. I liked the first book, but I loved the second. I felt like all the characters, but Zafira most of all, experienced more growth in this second book. I felt much more attached to the characters and their trials in this book. I also enjoyed the setting more in this book.
Can't wait to see Faizal's next series come to life!

I don't even know what to say! I started the first book of this duology almost a year ago and had a lot of problems getting into the story. But then when I picked it up again a few days ago it really drew me into Arawiya and I devoured both books over the weekend it was so amazing the arc the yearning and the characters I loved every bit of it and I definitely need a book for Arawiya before and for Altair and Yasmine!!
The only thing I will say that sometimes it missed some of the dialogue in correlation to the development of the characters relationships. But it didn't make me love it any les as the writing was so beautiful!
I am so sad there are no more books about Arawiya.

this book worked soooo much better for me than the first book!!
for one, i actually really like nisar in this one. of course, in an enemies to lovers book, the characters have to be enemies at the start but nisar was so unlikable in the first quarter of this duology that i could not get behind the romance at all...but in this book, his character develops so much more and he actually becomes interestingly complex, rather than just the tortured bad boy stereotype.
zafira was pretty compelling as well, and i loved that the author actually focused on the trauma that she endured in the first book and how it affected her. i thought it was pretty well done.
the miscommunication with kulsum pissed me the hell off though...it was incredibly unnecessary for her to return to this book in my opinion.
also the pacing was pretty good throughout, and i liked having altair's pov in this one too. he's so charming and funny, i just love being in his mind. the first 200 pages were a little too repetitive though. i was over all the scenes of nasir knocking on zafira's door, for them to only have a two second conversation, pretty fast lol. i know it was meant to build tension of the "will they, won't they" variety, but it just annoyed me...
anyway, beyond that, a great conclusion to the duology and the conflict was well plotted and well written!!
