This was another awesome book in this series. Sad to see the characters graduate though. :(

One little thing why I rated it a 4 stars instead of 5. I felt like it was all rushed. Like she wanted to finish this part and move on with new characters. Fixing the Lily problem, scourge full battle, death of one of the characters (not saying who) and a lot more and that all in 200+ pages. I felt like things could have stretched over 2 books.

It was a shame, overall it was a really great book, even better than the other books, enough story and battle, but again maybe too much.

I will be sure to read the other books and see if they are just as good as this part of the series.

I really love these books. They are so much fun and so quick and the characters are very likable. They just keep getting better and better. The only "whole" I found in this book in particular was that in previous books they mentioned that the Council was hushhush yet they seem to be a little more public here. Also, The "norms" seem to adjust well to the fact that there are vampires, Weres (shifters), and witches all around them. Like it's no big deal. That was a little weird. But easily overlooked.

Marlene Perez's Dead Is series delivers as usual. Following the pattern set by J.K. Rowling, as the series progresses, it gets darker. This series started out like a typical episode of Scooby Doo: the grown-ups would behave badly, the teens (led by charming heroine Daisy Giordano, who learns she's inherited her mom's psychic gifts) would meddle and all would be put right in the end. Now all is not right, and can never be all right again. But Daisy is growing up. She graduates from high school in this volume.

This go 'round, the city of Nightshade, California, is experiencing a cold war between its resident vampires and werewolves. The Giordano household can hardly take a side, since Daisy and her eldest sister Rose are dating werewolves, while middle sister Poppy is dating Liam, a vampire. Elise Wilder, the black cat shapeshifter, is viciously attacked. Daisy is determined to find out who did it, but Nightshade has become more dangerous than ever.

The ending of this paranormal delight made me want to laugh and cry. There's a very happy reunion and a very sad loss. I like that the question of whether Ryan and Daisy will go to college together is settled, and that Rafe finally seems to remember who kidnapped him. This could be a satisfying ending to the series, though of course I hope there will be more.

I dont know where I didn't like this book because it was the last series, and i hadn't read the other books. I didn't even read the entire book, I was so bored of half of it that I didn't even want to finish reading it. Wolfs and vampires? Twillight much but with twillight it made sense, the entire story was clear.

This was the best one! Lots more action, suspense, and twists! I am kind of sad to see the series end...I know that there are others, but not with Daisy and the gang. Very entertaining! Fun reads!

Dead is not an Option by Marlene Perez is the fifth and final book of the Dead Is series centering around Daisy Giordano and her family and friends.

In Nightshade, an intense vampire and shifter war is going on and are vampire and shifter attacks. This not only splits the town of Nightshade into factions, but it also splits the Giordano sisters because Daisy and Rose both date weres while Poppy is seeing a vampire.

Daisy also is close to graduating and has yet to hear from a college. She's also trying to keep her promise to the jukebox, Lil, to free her from the jukebox along with turning Balthazar, the pig, back into her fiance, Bam. Will Daisy go to college and can she turn Lil back into the girl she used to be? Will the rift between vampires and shifters be solved? Find out in this last installment.

I looooved this book. I was sad to finish it. I loved reading about Daisy and her family and friends. I'm glad there is going to be a spin-off series. I'm going to keep my fingers crossed and hope that Daisy and her friends make an appearance.
