czidya's review against another edition
Seems like a good book , I realized I am actually lowkey traumatized from my concussion recovery experience like 4 years ago so it put me in a pretty bad mood

i loved this book! Súper interesting and insightful. unfortunately suffers from that chronic memoir struggle of petering out of things to say by 75% through, but so much of it was very vulnerable and beautiful

The title is the equivalent of clickbait, but I did learn a lot about living with a brain injury from reading this book. However, I probably would not have finished this one had I not had Natalie Naudus reading along in my ear.

This book was exactly what I needed. Thank you to Annie Liontas for writing this gripping, vulnerable, amazing piece of literature. Everyone who has had a concussion should read this and everyone who loves someone who’s had a concussion should read it as well.
Moderate: Violence and Domestic abuse
Minor: War and Transphobia

Just finished this book and it hits so close to home. It’s actually not entirely on sex with a brain injury but covers a lot of different parts about living with trauma to the brain, chronic fatigue and relationships (including the self) + more. It’s raw. Made me cry and feel less alone.
I’d recommend this book to anyone and extend a special invitation to friends/fam who have ever wondered why someone with a brain injury doesn’t just ‘get better’ in a linear fashion, even when you mean well. you’d take away a lot from this text.
A few short take always:
🧠 Most studies with people who haveTBIs haven’t included women or queer folks.
🧠 50-80% of people incarcerated( in the US ?)have experienced at least one TBI. This is typically before incarceration.
