This book and the entire saga, is a piece of art. We can see the work behind. The author did a lot of work and depicted everything with so much precision that it became sometimes difficult to read (!chapter 21!). It's heartbreaking, it's horrendous and I love it.

Chapter 21 there are many many descriptions of grotesque murders and rapes. Later in the book there is increased content about addiction and a kidnapping.

I’m not a big fan of military fantasy, but I felt like this was really well-written and enjoyed seeing the characters make decisions! I felt like I learned a lot from this book about the craft of writing, and I’m looking forward to reading the second in the trilogy!
