- ordered that book in 2021, before my grandma's passing and started reading it months after
- I have to say I got really close to that book, seeing how much I could relate to it and see those words, problems and differences in real life - everything written in it is just purely real

I forgot this was a library book and dog-eared a bunch of the pages. Oops. It speaks to the book's veracity.

easy to go through, and it felt like a friend was talking to you and explaining all the aspects of grief

This was one of the few self-help books that I thought were honest and human. I liked how Marasco and Shuff explored the different ways in which grief manifests and moreover, validated all these experiences. The variety of people that were interviewed for the book was nice as well. I think this is the type of self-help book I might actually return to if I need it.

personally i loved this book because it never felt forced or fake: in fact, it was more like someone was talking to me and guiding me through the journey of grief, telling me stories and teaching me lessons. this made me cry several times but i’m so grateful for it because of various reasons. it has left me shaken, something books don’t always do to me.
