MaoMao was trained by her father to work as an apothecary mixing medicines but then was kidnapped and sold to the palace to work. I first watched this as a anime and then wanted to see what if any differences there were between the light novels, the manga and the anime. Basically, I just enjoy MaoMao's world enough that I want to keep reading or watching.

This book was a lot of fun! I heard a booktuber mention this manga and said the premise reminded her of a historical drama, so I had to check it out. I can agree that this does remind me of a historical drama. The main character MaoMao was so funny and spunky. She makes the best of her situation and finds herself in a bunch of silly antics.

This volume had a few small mysteries, which made the story more intriguing. I can't wait to see where the rest of this manga goes, because volume one made me smile and excited to read more.
