I really enjoyed, it is a long read but many things are going on for each character which keeps the book really interested. I was hesitant to read this because I watched the movie before reading the book and I still found it an incredible and there are  details missing out in the movie so it doesn’t feel like I’m reading the movie (if that makes sense) and I’m the book you have a lot more backstory to some of the characters.

<SPOLIERS>
 reading some of the comments on the ending. Like yes the ending was unexpected but not at the same time in a way? Starling always had conflicted feelings I feel like they got together straight away instead of a more slow burn kinda thing? I can’t really explain it but it was always bound to happen, The 2 only things that I dislike and this is me being nit picky is Hannibal’s weird thing with his sister I was just kinda of confused why he was relating her to starling and 2 was how quick they got together I know the slow burn was happening over the silence of and as well but I feel like something was missing??? But honestly the book had so much stuff I really enjoyed I can look over it

i really loved red dragon and silence of the lambs but this was just a disappointing ending to the trilogy. struggled for the first ~200 pages to get in to this and then when the pace began to pick up i was enjoying it a lot more but then the ending was just insane to me.

clarice’s character just suddenly changed and the nuanced relationship between her and hannibal just suddenly shifts into full romance. this honestly all read like fan fiction it was just surreal and so unnecessary<\spoilers>

Not a perfect book but listening to it while also watching seasons 2 and 3 of the show was perfect.

This book has everything: misogyny, homophobia, racism, transphobia, breastfeeding a grown man, definitely getting kuru from eating human brains, murder by eel, the line "let's swap body fluids, bitch!".
