I thoroughly enjoyed this book and felt like I learned a bit about cadaver dogs and how they are trained. I am aware that some have reviewed this book and have found editing errors and fault there, but that wasn't my purpose for reading it. I enjoyed reading about Solo and how Warren worked with him; I enjoyed learning about how dogs are trained to locate scent underwater as well as deep in the forest. It's not a manual on how to train dogs.

That being said, read the book as a sort of memoir of a lady who balances work and taking her dog to training sessions, and then eventually out on calls to search for people. Solo is her over-active, highly intelligent German Shepard puppy and it doesn't take long for Warren to realize that his boundless intelligence and energy must be channeled into something productive. I found the book to be highly engaging and interesting and I really enjoyed reading it.
