The story moved me and will stay with me for a while  the ending was unexpected. If you like something reflective, mysterious, melancholic, nostalgic and sad. You should enjoy this book. It is about loss and pain never really buried. Hope and loss again. It is about the tragedy of a family and how it can bring them closer or separate them for good. I really enjoyed it

2.5 stjerner.

A definite slow burner - stick with it - the narrative style starts to work and the strands begin to knit together. First I have read by this author, will look out for others.

This story had a lot of suspense and I really liked the way it was written and was very interested in what would happen next pretty fast. Although I was more interested in the past than the present, because Vera wasn't the most likable character to me, and I found it pretty hard to follow her for a very long time. But I do absolutely understand where everything was coming from, and I do think it fit her. Generally I think everyone behaved in a way that fit them, and it felt like everyone had motivations that made sense for them.
I could see the solution at some point, so I wasn't really that surprised (or at least not about everything) when the end came, but I didn't mind, because I liked the writing enough that it really didn't bother me.
The only thing that did bother me really was Vera in the beginning (about the first half or first 3/4 of the book?), but apart from that everything was at least alright, most of it really good, and I think if I liked Vera a little more, this would have been 5 stars, because I had a lot of fun with the story.
