100% guilty pleasure read to escape whatever present-day hellscape I find myself slogging through, but just barely. Getaway features: A spunky FMC with a secret, a hot guardian-type with wings, warring paranormal politics, a solid story line to keeps a reader's interest, and enough ✨🌶️✨ to ENSURE that interest. Solid mental vacay.

If this was Dick Clark's American Bandstand "Rate-a-Record" segment but for Sarah Maas and Crescent City: House of Earth and Blood, I'd say it this way:
