My favourite book of the series so far!

A light lead. The dark atmosphere is skillfully balanced with well-placed moments of humor.

What particulary stands out is the consistent narrative paste: Unlike the previous books of the series, which started slowly and then picked up towards the finale, it here steadily maintains an enjoyable level. The shorter length really benefits in my view!

In this third Tempe Brennan mystery, Reichs strays from the tried-and-true forumla, without great success. Tempe is starting to act like an irritatingly helpless female.

I still find these interesting enough to read, but I will be happy when I catch up to the books written more recently. I find these books so technology driven and we all know how fast advances are being made!

Okay, I quit. I tried, I really did. This is the third Brennan book, and despite hating the first one, I gave the second one a try. It took a bit, but I got into it.

I'm tired of waiting a bit. Much like with Dexter, I'll stick with the show, and forget the books.
