Cruel Enforcer
A Cougar Mafia Romance (Mafia Wars, Book 3)
By: Maggie Cole
Narrated by: Aaron Shedlock, Zara Eden

Sometimes when a series continues, it drags and gets boring. Not Maggie Cole's Mafia Wars! This series just keeps getting better! We get to know the youngest of the Ivanov brothers, Sergey. As broken as his brother, he is the enforcer. Dangerous and dominant, you don't want him after you. When he meet Kora Kilborn, he realizes he has finally met his match. A force both in and out of the courtroom, she takes no prisoners and her aggressiveness does not put him off. This couple is electrifying. Sergey is not intimidated by Kora, and the more he gives her the more she is willing to take. But what is truly wonderful is the way he is able to show Kora more than his dominance. He is sweet and loving and she understands him. But it's not all about the two of them! We also get the danger and excitement of the garage, with Boris and Maksim. Bits surrounding the three are filled in and the story is heart breaking. These men don't sit idle though. They are making their future and it's there for the taking. I love how the three stories run simultaneously and we get bits and pieces of each. It's full of all the great suspense, amazing romance and leaves bread crumbs for the next book in the series! I can't wait!

Aaron Shedlock leads in the narration as Sergey. Not only does he bring the dominant alpha to life, but adds that broken vulnerability in giving Sergey incredible depth. Zara Eden comes in as Kora, the strong, aggressive woman that she is, and I adore her Russian accent! Memories of her Lana Sky performances which she nails! Together these two find the balance of this couple and create hours of wonderful entertainment for my ears.

Sergey Ivanov..... well damn, he's just hot! You're gonna need to fan yourself at times. Other times you need a tissue. This book has all the feels and is written so well, it perfectly weaves from book two and into book four.
Kora was written well also. Sometimes I get annoyed when the main female characters act super tough and independent but then end up being whiny and immature. Kora is spunky, fun, independent, loyal, and tough as nails. I love it!

5+ Two things that really have me loving this book: #1; this is the first book with bdsm that didn’t turn me off. It was very well written and quite sexy. #2; Sergey loves the colour pink because of Kora’s love for it. He buys pink sheets, sex toys, wears it himself. This series always ends on an HEA plus a cliffhanger making you reach for the next book. The ongoing storyline book to book is really good.

Cruel Enforcer Mafia Wars by 3 Maggie Cole Live Now

Panting for More

This book is FANTASTIC! It started playful and ended with me riveted and panting for the next book!

Backing up a moment, let me start by saying that I love where this story starts! Some gaps from Maksim's and Boris' books get colored in, while also creating pockets for the future books to fill -say like the events that leave Adrian with marks on his back?

I think this quote aptly describes Sergey and why Kora can't help herself:

Everything about him is hot and possessive. He's a dangerous bad boy of ripped muscles, dominant behavior, and a touch so electric, it instantly lights me on fire. --Kora Kilborn

Here's the answer to the question that frequently comes up about standalone. Yes, this could probably be read as a standalone. Should you? It's not recommended. I'd recommend reading the series in order as there are overlapping events from different POVs and different pieces of information come out each time. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

I enjoyed this book a lot more than the previous one. This is sexy romance between Sergey Ivanov and Kora. Sergey is the youngest brother, but he also has damage, just like his brothers. He experienced torture and branding at a young age by their enemy. He has had a dysfunctional off and on relationship with a model who basically used him for their BDSM dynamic. He finally ends their relationship and meets Kora while the brothers help Maksim get his woman and her friends out of bad situation. They immediately hit it off and start seeing each other.

Kora is a strong, independent, and intelligent black woman. She has had issues with men not being able to handle how alpha she is. However, Sergey loves this about her and calls her his piranha. He means it in a positive way and is very supportive of her. He just dominates her in the bedroom or dungeon.

They had a lot of back and forth in the middle of the book since he would not answer any questions or be honest about what he did. Kora just wants him to trust her, and he wants to keep her safe. I loved how they came together and were solid in their love before the 3rd act, and there was no 3rd act breakup.

I would recommend reading this series in order to understand everything going on in the Mafia wars.

Mafia-adjacent book about a 39 year old divorce attorney and a younger man. Not poorly written. For my taste, there were too many things happening way too fast.

This is the third book in the Mafia War series, we get Sergey and Kora's story. These characters' chemistry is hot, the story is well written, and I had a great time hearing this story with good pacing. The audiobook narrated by Aaron Shedlock and Zara Eden, delivering an amazing performance of their characters. You might prefer to listen to this story.

Cruel Enforcer by Maggie Cole is a dark mafia romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Aaron Shedlock and Zara Eden. This is the third book in the Mafia Wars series. The book can be read as a standalone but the stories are interconnected.

This is the third book of Maggie's that I have read and it definitely won't be my last. I loved the relationship between Sergey and Kora. The chemistry between them was off the charts. I really enjoyed getting both of their points of views throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.

I can't wait for the next book in the series Vicious Protector to be released on July 1, 2021.

Aaron and Zara did an amazing job on the narration. They both really know how to bring a story to life. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.

I would recommend this book if you love mafia romances, dark romances, or romantic suspense.
