Surprisingly horny. Not particularly gripping or plot driven, but I did finish reading it.

i only read the first 2 chapters and i just couldn’t get myself to read the rest it was way to detailed sadly unlike the movie. For example when they describe every SINGLE item she got from the grocery store. No offense but i didnt need to know everything

Leave the World Behind has led me to question my own relationship with technology, information, and the constant need to be updated.

When the world reaches a strange point, how do you react? It’s very difficult to know this in advance, but it’s important to remember your own humanity. Books like these remind me of a certain thing I like in books - enclosed settings. The whole story takes place and unravels in a vacation home. This reminded me of A Gentleman in Moscow and some of the writings of Fernando Pessoa. Although very different stylistically, it made the same point. It’s the mind that takes you places. It’s the ideas, paranoias, prophecies and conspiracies. This is where the action takes place, and I loved this book for that.

Anything less than 5.0 stars would be dishonest. I picked this book up and could not put it down.

Where's the rest of the book?! The writing was so pretentious, I should have expected this massive letdown. Irritated beyond measure.

As someone who loves post-apocalyptic and dystopian stories I couldn't help but find this book a bit underwhelming, since it ends when the interesting stuff seems to start. I would have loved to see what happened with Rosie's excursion, for example! With that said I did like seeing all the emotions and reactions right after a disaster, especially since they didn't know what was happening. I just would have preferred getting more plot-wise.
