My Rating: 4.75⭐️
Spice Details: Several Open Doors Scenes

Summary: Picking up from the devastating events at the end of The Shards of Ophelia, the crew is falling into different habits to cope with the losses. But old problems and new arise as Ophelia and her friends embark on journeys that will test the bonds between them and their faith in their world. Curses, budding romances, and legends swirl together as they try to keep the Mystiques together, find healing in their own lives, and move forward in an effort to take down a tyrannical queen.

My Thoughts: This series does not quit. I cannot get enough of this found family in Gallantia. Each book amidst the battles, quests, and romance we are immersed in a journey of self-healing and discovery. I have loved watching these characters grow! The new characters have continued to fold well into the group, and each book I have new favorites to root for--Trials was no exception. The swoony and spicy sides of these MMCs had me weak in the knees, and I CANNOT wait to continue to follow these incredible characters. Let's just say I need that next book now!

Ophelia’s adventure continues…and it gets pretty intense in more ways than one 👀

What I liked:

This is one of my absolute favorite found families. Ophelia, Jezebel, Tolek, Cypherion, Santorina, and Malakai have my entire heart. I love the newer characters that we met in book 2, and got to know better in this book (Mila, I’m looking at you 👀)

A book that has trials/an adventure in it will always peak my interest. The trials that Ophelia and the gang went on were so stressful, and yet so fun.

Ophelia wading through her grief, while also trying to lead her people and go on these trials. Tolek being his wonderful, adorable self. Anytime he opened his mouth I was either smiling, or swooning.

The tension between Cyph & Vale. I adore Cypherion always, and I am so interested to see how things go with him and Vale.

What didn’t work for me:

Not a damn thing. I need everyone to read this series, please and thank you.

First, I would like to thank Nicole for the e-arc! TTOO is one of my most anticipated reads this year so I was excited to receive an arc for this.

Also, HELLO to my new favorite book in the series! One of my favorite moments when I read a book from Nicole is that I get sucked in to the most beautiful writing EVER. Everything just sounds so poetic and it's such a breath of fresh air. I don't think I will ever stop mentioning this.

Read if you love:
- Found family
- Meddling angels
- "Who did this to you"
- New creatures & territories
- Cave scenes
- Slow burn/tension
- Love confessions
- epic fantasy adventure

I am so so happy with how this book turned out! I feel like the character growth and development was spot on. We got to see Ophelia and how she's faced with many challenges in her role but also trying to be the best leader, friend, and lover. We get more love confessions from Tol and also him being the cutest cinnamon roll ever. And I was pleasantly surprised with Malakai's growth. I have thoughts about Malakai ok? I enjoyed his POV the most in this book. I loved his growth and how he's overcoming the shit he went through the last couple of books and I was just PLEASANTLY SURPRISED OKAY??? Did I possibly may have a slight change of heart of who my main man is in this series? THIS IS POSSIBLE. Anyways, I really enjoyed Malakai's story and what's going on with Mila so lemme just say that I am so ready for more of them. Also JEZEBEL HONEY. <3 <3 <3

The stakes got higher in this one and I love that Nicole can write an epic fantasy that also has great romance. Even though you swoon over the dialogue and relationships that form in this series, you're still witnessing strong characters who know how to beat some ass. Ophelia is such a powerful character and this journey watching her grow is what I most enjoy reading in this series. I think the setting and pacing for this book was a great set up for understanding our main characters more and we are at a pivotal moment in this storyline and I. AM. SCARED.

Book 3 of The Curse of Ophelia does not disappoint.

There was a lot of character development and relationship building.

I was sucked in so fast and my attention was held until the end.

Trials of Ophelia by Nicole Platania is book 3 in the Curse of Ophelia series and it was so good. If you like Greek Mythology, found families, unique fantastical worlds, with love stories intertwined then you will love this story.

This book picks up after the war has ended. Everyone is reeling from the war, everyone is broken and the angels are being messy.

Ophelia, Malakai, Tolek, Jezebel, Santorina, and Cyph set out to try and find the Angel Shards that remain in hopes that it will end the war. Along the way they make new friends and some unexpected allies.

I am obsessed with this series. By the end of book 3 I feel like I’ve built a relationship with characters. Trials of Ophelia had me hooked from page one. I don’t know why I waited so long to read this series. I was given this ARC in exchange for my honest thoughts and opinions

This book was simply heartbreaking in the best way. I am so attached to the characters, it’s probably a little unhealthy, but alas I love the story. Tolek continued to be my favorite weirdo and Ophelia gets stronger & stronger with every book the author writes. I am terrified for the series ending but can’t wait for it at the same time.
