Spicy. Not the best of the series but it’s pretty good.

A really good installment--we got the overall plot moving forward and the relationships between Eurydice, Charon, and Orpheus unfolded so well. I actually like that Orpheus didn't have to grovel, it felt like a more realistic approach to forgiveness than if groveling had been the whole book. I really liked the sex scenes, though I can see why some people weren't into them. I do think it's funny that Charon and Orpheus kept emphasizing that "oh we can see ourselves falling in love with each other but we're not there yet" as if this whole series isn't full of characters falling in love within 2 weeks.

Also, I think it's so interesting that the further we get from Neon Gods, the less I actually care for Persephone as a character. She's getting on my nerves. But I'm so excited that Hera/Callisto is going to be more prominent in the next book (I want her and Zeus/Perseus's book soooooo badly, it's gonna be so good).

I identify with Orpheus. That’s it. That’s the review.

Nearly a year after being betrayed by Orpheus, Eurydice wants to move on with her best friend Charon - but feels she cannot until she's gotten some closure. And all around them, Olympus is becoming more and more unsafe.

I've been looking forward to this book for a while, since I was excited to see how Robert would reconcile the traitorous Orpheus to the romance. The groveling was well done actually, so I enjoyed the second chance he's given. I also liked seeing Eurydice coming into her own as a capable woman, and how the background plot of the instability of Olympus surged forward.

But while I enjoyed the dynamics of the triad relationship, I did feel like Charon got less development than Eurydice and Orpheus, which was disappointing. His relationship with Orpheus felt a bit more tacked on compared to the other sides of the triangle. I wondered if it was because he had less background explored in previous books than did the other two.

Katee is keeping us on edge once again in this delightful next chapter on the Dark Olympus series. With another fantastic set of characters fleshed out for us, some incite into some of our past favourites lives, a little taste of whats coming and the continued drip feed of details from the over arching story this winning mix that they seem to have perfected once agin lured me into the world of Olympus and kept me captivated. Of course there is also the usual healthy dose of spicy content Katee always delivers on but it does not overshadow the rest of the storyline. Brilliant work once again.
