I'm not saying I didn't enjoy this because I did, the first half just didn't grab me quite as much as the previous three books.

My main issue was that I didn't feel that I knew either character they didn't feel consistent. Cindy was just a little too OTT, too weird and kooky at times and then suddenly she was this bad-ass, take no prisoners female. I really couldn't buy that a guy as suspicious and into shady stuff as Pax wouldn't have problems with a girl stalker turning up and claiming to be his soul mate. Man is pretty shallow if a big pair of tits is enough to distract him like that.

It was difficult to believe that Pax would ignore those blaring red alarms that "Cindy Vaughn" wasn't who she claimed to be. In the previous books he's been built up as this dangerous, dodgy, morally grey mofo so I felt rather let down to discover a soft-hearted and rather sweet momma's boy.

Once I got over this mismatch from previous books I did find myself drawn into the story - who knew 1940s detective role-play could be so hot?! We also get to know a LOT more about that back story and see the return of a few unwelcome, familiar faces.

I'm hoping Oliver's story doesn't disappoint.

Mister Mysterious should be Mr. & Mrs. Mysterious. The overarching plot may drive these stories but the characters make them just a joy to read. We have been getting to know Pax trough the other books; bada$$, tough guy, mercenary Mysterious. The real Pax is really a lot of fun. But maybe that's just Cindy bringing out the best in him. Cinderella Shrike is an unknown when we open the book. Sure we know her name and her family, but Babybomb is driven yet free, she doesn't care about stuff but would die for people. Cindy and Pax's tale makes you laugh, makes you worry, and makes you sweat (the sexy scenes). And at the end you have a big ole smile on your face.

➸ The FMC lost her stalkery-edge way too early for my satisfaction (36%). Truthfully, I’m a bit disappointed that she wasn’t as unhinged as I’d thought she’d be.

➸ This is technically a standalone, but having not read any of the other books in this series/universe previously, I found myself lost more often than not. Granted, the author herself states in the section of her book headed End of Book Shit: “If you picked up Mr. Mysterious first and read the series out of order you might be thinking – this is not a standalone. I sort of agree—BUT—I did give you everything you needed to know for THIS book. So I consider it a standalone. Yes, you’re missing info, but what the fuck could I do? That info is all in the other books. You get the gist of it, right? If you need details go back and read the other Mister books. Start from the beginning this time.” Because of this, I don’t really fault the author for my struggle…too much. Truly, I don’t think it’s worth advertising this book as a standalone, as readers who read it as such (like me) are more than likely to be dissatisfied due to lack of understanding major plot elements.

➸ Negatives aside, the MMC was cute and extremely likable (at least when it came to the FMC).

My favorite mister since Mr. Perfect. Being on Mr. Match.

This series is doing so much more than it needs to. I love the characters and Pax and Cindy's relationship felt like the most organic and loving of the bunch. However, I didn't like the fact that Cindy's stalker tendencies weren't questioned and the twist at the end felt like the author just wanted to outdo herself. I'm excited to read Mr Match because I want to know how everything ends, but I'm a bit tired of the mysteries and the extreme situations.

Her name may be Cinderella, but this is no fairytale. One thing she's learned in her life is that if she wants her happily ever after - it's up to her to go after it. Unfortunately, her "Prince Charming" has no idea who she is, but she has a plan to change that...as long as it doesn't blow up in her face.

Pax is in trouble. He fell hard for someone before he knew who she was, and Match is going to kill him once he finds out. If that weren't bad enough, someone is after all the Misters & now he has to keep Cindy safe. Too bad things never go as planned...

This has become my absolute favorite of all the Misters' books! There is SO MUCH that I want to talk about, but can't because I don't want to let anything slip. Do me a favor and READ THIS SERIES! (You can thank me later)

SO so many things are happening in this book, I love me some Mr. Perfect.. but Mr. Mysterious sure gives him a run for his money for being my favorite of the Misters.

So many questions I had, and still have but so much also gets answered! I am in shock right now, this book had me sucked in from the first page to the last one.

Paxton has always been a character I wanted to get to know better. I don’t know that we get to know him, that well but he sure puts his heart on his sleeve in this book.
I really enjoyed getting to know his mother in this book you can tell they are close. She is a little bit of a mystery as well. It’s no wonder Pax is the way he is.

When Cinderella aka Cindy comes in to the picture, she catches his eye right away. He wants to know more about her. So he goes about that.

Cinderella, has had a crush on Paxton from about the age of 13. She took it upon herself early to investigate him and the other Misters. She has had her father study bugged at the age of 13 so when the charges came she is in the know. Only no one knows she is… She is a sneaky one. I would even go to say even more Mysterious than Pax’s.

But I think what I liked is that he knows she isn’t who she says but he is ok to have his head buried in the sand.
He pursues her pretty hard but it’s kind of the same with her. I loved this, he chases her but really it was her plan all along.

“I’m just a girl who saw your picture on the news and got obsessed. OK? And yeah, it’s weird, and wrong, and creepy. But I’m really not any of those things. I swear it. I’m just a girl who likes a guy.”

Things sure come to a head and we find out some key pieces in the Misters story and no I am not going to give away the good stuff!
Read the book it’s so good, if you had questions in the last few books some of those questions get answered and things become clearer ... but not totally answered.. Can’t wait for the next Mister BOOK!!

*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*

I LOVE THIS SERIES! With each book in this series we are getting closer to knowing what is actually going on. I was very excited for Mr. Mysterious because I thought he was the most ..well... mysterious lol but I have to say he was nothing like I expected him to be but in a very good way! I guess he was a lot nicer than I thought he would be.

Paxton is a fixer, the man everyone calls to take care of business. He comes across mysterious, standoffish or maybe seems like the strong silent type. But I think in reality he's just a guy who loves his mother and wants all the drama to go away so he can live a semi- normal life.

Cindy (Cinderella) knows what she wants and she goes after it! She was on a mission to get the guy no matter how crazy it made her seem and boy a few times she sure did seem a little nuts. I loved that she knew in her heart that he was the one and she followed her heart.

Together these two exploded. They are HOT HOT HOT! I love that they bring out the best in each other and I was seriously thankful about Paxton's reaction to finding out who she is.

This series is filled with suspense, action, sex and love! Each book has kept me on the edge of my seat and i'm dying to find out how this all ends.

BEST NARRATION EVER!!!
Everyone knows I love Sebastian York and Andi Arndt but this one was extra amazing because I got to listen to Sebastian say my name over and over and that in itself was amazing!!! Both narrators were perfect for this story, they fit the characters perfectly.
Rob Shapiro was also narrating but only in chapter 1.
