The authors have a delicate balance to strike. The plot-what-plot? trope works well in fanfiction because the characters are so well established that it’s easy to get to the hot steamy sex. This anthology needs to establish character so they can get down to business. I think this is mostly done well. As someone who is on the wrong side of 40 I really enjoyed the protagonists finding love later in life.

Rating: 4.5/5 This collection centers all older people, silver foxes and grande dames. I really loved this, because it’s rare to see representation of older characters in sexy situations, especially in drawn form. Just like the previous, this is very queer and trans, very diverse set of characters. This also touches on a lot of different genres - sci-fi, fantasy, contemporary, etc. I just wish the older people were more on the *older* end, because some of them looked like they were late 30s, but the anthology does say it’s 40 and older, so there’s that. I think there should have been more disabled representation, just because we always need more, but also because the older you get, the more likely there will be disability present. But overall, I really enjoyed this anthology. I particularly enjoyed The Chore, Romancing the Reverend, and Wet Dog.

Excellent! There were a couple of comics I didn't love/didn't get, but mostly, it was another great anthology from Smut Peddler.

This Silver volume erotic fiction was not what I was expecting. Definitely a hot read, spicy, with characters of varying ages (mainly older), different body sizes and in the queer community, and different settings. There was one story I just did not understand, but the rest were good reads. Might check out the other volumes.

Smut Peddler remains undefeated for go-to great erotic comics of quality storytelling and beautiful diversity of perspectives. This anthology, in particular, featured older (over 40) characters, which reading it on my 39th birthday seemed perhaps a little pointed.

My favorite stories:

"Romancing the Reverand" by Kinomatike and Saint Circus
"The Chore" by T. Zysk
"A Pinch of Rosemary" by Lyndsay McSeveney
"Mandatory Overtime" by Nero O'Reilly
"Behold Her" by Harriet Moulton
"William Wilson and the Man on a Mission" by E.K. Weaver
"Wet Dog" by Hien Pham

I do wish that these stories featured more explicitly disabled characters. But otherwise, I found myself so happy with the mix of body types, sexualities, and genders and greatly delighted in the many trans characters. Iron Circus remains one of the best and most interesting comic book press out there.

This is basically a Smut Peddler collection, which means you get all sorts of sex. Men on men. Women on women. Women on Men. You get the idea. And this theme is older couples.

So, if you like sexy times with older people, this is where to go. Always lots of fun, if not good clean stories, then dirty good stories.
