These types of books aren't what I normally enjoy. And yet, I read this one in two sittings, and that ending is making me start on book 2 straight away. A pleasant surprise.

Um…yes

This book was amazing! I enjoyed it so much. My only issue with it is the fact that it wasn’t done in dual POV. I feel like it could have added to the story!

SPOILERS. My brain hurts. What did I just read? And can my heart handle Exodus? Also, who the heck is the Frenchman!?! Am I even suppose to know this??? Sigh.

I think I’m team Sean. But Dom. It’s the mystery of him that pulls ya in. That trio though- the whole time I’m thinking one will get jealous but they’re seem to be totally fine with her “choices”. Maybe I was trying to add in drama were there wasn’t gonna be, but really all the poetic secrets served as the dramatics. Which was also annoying.

The garage scene at the end: I get it. The song lyrics to “Cecelia” says it all. They were playing it like they dropped her- well played but dang. Then the closet with Sean and FINALLY his cryptic communication made sense! I figured this had something to do with her “secretive dad”.

But still, I’m stuck on the Frenchman. This is going to get really good, or be really really bad. If you’ve read this book and you’re reading this review- am I alone? Or are you just as confused too but in the bestest way?!!??
Okay. On to book #2.

I did not like it, I have a dreading feeling about the FMC. I feel like she will get played at between the two guys, and not in the good way.

“Why choose” with some borderline non-consensual stuff but interesting enough for me to keep going.

this is one of the worst books i’ve ever read and unfortunately i listened to it as an audiobook so i couldn’t even skim the pages, i had to listen to each horrible word lolololol. cecilia is one of the most clueless characters i’ve ever seen and it was physically painful to read her let other ppl walk all over and call it love??? and sean was the biggest loser ever and put alllll the fights back on her like ???? i truly don’t know why i listened to the whole thing, i rlly thought dominic was going to pull through and surprise us but he’s just a big a loser as sean. i can’t believe i let tiktok influence me AGAIN. i would give this no stars if it were an option

I feel like only the last 5% had a plot and confused by the ending but don’t want to read the next book so I guess I’ll stay confused

At first, I wasn't quite sure I was into this book, but by about the 1/4 way through, I decided to keep going. The FMC is pretty annoying throughout, but I believe she has reasons for at least some of it.

Cecelia comes from a blue-collar upbringing with her mom. His dad abandoned them very early on, and it turns out he's a millionaire. But in order to receive her inheritance, Cecelia has to work in one of his factories for a year. (ok, what kind of crap is that?)

Of course, she has an attitude right from the start when she meets Sean at said job. He and his "friends are the most vague people ever, but she falls for him fast for some reason. (eye roll here)

It moves at a decent pace, and the story intrigues me enough to finish the series. Now on to book 2, because this one ends on a dang cliffhanger!!
