Really thrilling, I couldn’t put it down at first and then I had to put it down multiple times because it was too much for my heart. Well-written but the direction it took after the criminal reveal left me with a bad taste until that eye-rolling epilogue. So, I give it 3 stars instead of a solid 4 until after 80% of the book.

A nice, twisty, quick read. Palate cleanser, somewhat repetitive, some flat characters, but the story kept me going. And the last two minutes (on audio)? Wow.

This book was an okay thriller in my opinion. It didn’t absolutely suck me in, but there were definitely a lot of interesting points. I’ve never read a thriller in which one commute to work was the primary focus. From the beginning I was questioning absolutely EVERYONE. I enjoyed both characters POV, and the ending kinda gave me whiplash (but in a good way).

So many potential suspects, actual perpetrator was unlikely and suddenly the perfect villain.

I really loved this author's previous book, I Let You Go, so I had high expectations of this book. It let me down on so many levels. The plot felt forced. The twist at the end was embarrassingly obvious. The a-ha moments that the cops had in working on this case were highly illogical. And the main character most definitely had to have had ESP to come to some of the conclusions she came to.

I liked this more than her previous book, even though I figured out all the twists before they were revealed. That didn't detract from the taut suspense throughout the book, and the complex character portrayals and relationships.

One thing I noted with both of her books is how apparent her background is in her portrayal of police officers. I like the authenticity, and I really liked the officers in this book and how they interacted with one another.

I'm looking forward to her next book.
