The husk in the voice got me in love.
Just it was confusing in the beggining that both POVs and character voices sounded almost the same but it got splendid later on.

Story: way better than I Let You Go,actually no way to compare.
Side characters and everything make sense and nobody felt unnecessary. Flow is absolutely thrilling. I love every part of it because the narrator was just amazing! I don't think I'd have loves it this much by just reading the book.
Because the lines were too close for my picky taste and the book wasn't as flex and comfortable as I like it.

Holy moly. A solid read right until the final 100 pages when I was absolutely gripped. The climax unfolds perfectly and the final gut-punch twist at the end really knocked me for six.
My only comment was that one of the main POV characters grated on me a lot in the beginning. If the whole book had been from her perspective I don't know that I'd have finished reading. But so glad I stuck with it.

Wow! Jaw-droppingly good. What a twisty, scary ride. Not a book to read on public transport, it was bad enough sat at home haha

I suspected literally everybody. The characters were so well drawn. The every day nature of the people, the places, the situations, made it so much more tense.

Every book I read by Clare Mackintosh I am left wanting more, and this was no exception.
