I read this for the Importance of Earnest as I love the play, however I also enjoyed the other society plays: Lady Windermere's Fan, A Woman of No Importance and And Ideal Husband. I skipped most of Salomé though.

When starting to read this book I already knew two of the plays featured yet I still enjoyed reading them again. Possibly my favourite one was "A woman of no importance". "Only love could have kept you alive. Only love could keep anyone alive" - how one could not adore this play I do not know. Gerald's innermost fight between his ambition and his love for his mother is so sententious, him knowing he will always choose his mother is heartwarming. Besides that, the other plays were just as one would expect Oscars plays to be (with a slight exception for Salome, though it is still a thoroughly enjoyable one): witty, hilarious with a tad of seriousness to it and above all entertaining.
Graphic: Classism, Body horror, Murder, and Death
Moderate: Racism, Slavery, Antisemitism, and Classism

Read it for Year 10 English.
Some others were entertaining, and more were strange (what is Salome), but The Importance of Being Earnest was good.
