Wasn’t sure but Lordy…

This book had me in a chokehold. Amazing cliffhanger and I’m loving the character dynamic. Each guy is so different and that’s refreshing. Some RH are just carbon copies.

Enjoying the storyline of the difficulties each guy is facing.

Finally found a good RH to hold my attention. I really enjoyed this one and immediately downloaded book 2.

SYNOPSIS:

Getting a fresh start was paramount for Josephine. Her uncle offered her room and board if she got the scholarship to Lake Chapel U, and she did. Her first day she meets Decker Crusade and his boys. She doesn’t get a warm welcome from them. She makes a friend in Hunter and attends a Crusade party. There, she somewhat hooks up with Locke, one of Decker’s boys. It’s cut short, but they both want to see each other again. She gets a job at a medical aesthetics salon & after a few days, she spots Locke and Kendrick at the salon. She thinks Locke is there to see her but realizes she’s wrong. She goes to say hello but obviously walked in on the tail end of an important convo. Kendrick is pissed at her for what she “saw” and he tells Decker. Later, she’s forced awake and is essentially kidnapped by the boys. She’s told that because she saw what she saw (which was nothing), she must now live with them at least until the end of football season. She finds out from Kyliand that what she “saw” was Locke and Kendrick getting banned treatments for their respective immune disorders & they can’t let people know about them. While living with them, she develops feelings for Kyliand, and also gets back good with Locke. And Decker and her have tension between them, of the sexual sense. Kendrick hates her for whatever reason. When rivalry week begins for the big game against the opposing team, she’s for real kidnapped & the boys know nothing of it. Decker doesn’t know until he receives a picture of her, and he immediately knows she’s being held against her will, and he can see the trauma on her face. He tells the others and that’s how book 1 ends.

🎧Vincent Skye narration is top notch. He is able to distinguish between characters and make them all sound differently. There was only one chapter in the book that made me pull out my AirPods and that was when Ace Bentley came in for Kendrick. There is only one chapter in Kendrick’s point of view so it was strange to add a different narrator for him when that was the only time you heard him. The rest of the book Vincent Skye speaks his voice.
As for the plot, I was invested to see what was being hidden and how it would all work its way out. This is a why choose reverse harem and it ends on a cliffhanger so be prepared for that. I will be continuing the series for sure.

This book took a little while to truly suck me in but as soon as I was invested it was game over. Definitely diving immediately into book two!
