The banter is still top tier. It doesn't suffer from second book syndrome too bad. There are a few moments where it drags on but it was still a fun read.

Not as fun or adventurous as the first book. Starts to definitely drag towards the middle.

This book was so fun! I'm so glad I read this duology because it brought me so much joy. This really is all I could have ever wanted and more. These books are definitely some of my favorites of the year.

In first book there was a clear plotline and it moved through the book at even pace. In this one however, at times I was  lost what the plot even is? I got that the goal was to fight mom, but like 400p just was too much for that. It didn't really continue smoothly from the end of the first book and felt bit off in tone at the beginning. The rest was muddy plot wise...

Also, sex was useless. It didn't really work as smut nor it worked as plot device or relationship builder. It all could be fade to black or mentioned in funny comments or something. Just wasted pages. If I wonder how you can hold a conversation while at it it's not really good smut. You literally could discuss your plans while having tea. (Maybe I'm just too ace to get it)
