nhler Joe meets actress christine over helping a sick little girl...and sparks fly at their first mtg. however life gets in the way and their time together is limited. drama, jealousy, careers, schedule all happen but is it worth it to Joe and christine. kinda cool Joe is from manitoba..nice to see home province in th mix lol

4.5* I loved this story, it was sweet, sexy, fun, with little angst and two really likable main characters in Joe and Christine. Plus some old characters and new ones which make me excited for more stories in the future. Not to mention Lexie, who for me completely stole any chapter she was in.

You can also really tell when reading this series that the author Kate Willoughby is a huge hockey fan, and the moments when the team are on the ice or practicing are very descriptive yet not at all confusing, and the epilogue felt almost magical and so realistic that I felt like I was witnessing it for myself.

I really believe this series has just got better and better, and is definitely worth reading, especially if like me your a fan of Toni Aleo's Assassin's and Bellevue Bullies series.

I liked book 3 so much that I was pumped to read book 4. Yay! And Joe Rutherford? So pumped he's getting a book.

And the way that Christine and Joe immediately have chemistry? Love it! Makes me want a Joe Rutherford of my very own?

Yep. Every moment between them had me riveted to the page. I just had to keep reading.

And the way that Joe got upset at Christine? It was totally realistic. And the way she reacted? It was even better. Gotta have some drama in romance, and this was not the over the top kind.

The epilogue? Fucking loved it! Completely fucking loved it. Also - how they got back together was pretty great too.

Loved this book from beginning to end. I hope there will be more!

Kate Willoughby, you completely nailed it!

Standard contemporary sport star romance. I really liked how Tim wasn't a player. In fact his back story is pretty tragic and I love how he met Erin & liked her and wanted to get serious. And how when she was thinking she was out of his league he was all you are a nurse you help save peoples lives I just entertain people. It was great. As with most contemp romance Tim & Erin fall in love pretty quickly but what I really liked about this was there was no stupid misunderstanding or break up 3/4 of the way through. I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop but it never did. Yes they had some problems about the whole kid issue but neither person was in the wrong you could totally understand both points of view and they never broke up over it which made me happy. I rolled my eyes so hard over that proposal tho. I would have HATED something like that, especially after only 3 months of dating and then being put on the spot like that but each to their own. I guess there would be a lot of people out there who find it romantic.

3.5 stars. This was my favorite one of the bunch, where I liked both Joe and Christine as characters, and the unfolding of their relationship, the most. The angle of Joe being this more low-key dependable guy for a hockey player, Christine being the vibrant stage actress with a good heart, and how their romantic connection is a more hard-earned one with their disparate work schedules and locations, them having to do long distance and make sacrifices, was great.

Plus I was already a sucker for the element of hockey player getting together with the girl in show business- it's always fun seeing the "sports" guy with the also-famous, higher-public-fame-tier celebrity.

I appreciated their connection, their communications and their dates whenever they could steal some time together. I also appreciated the central conflict of their differing stages in life, where Joe's career is winding down and he's facing a lot of uncertainty if he still wants to play hockey, while Christine is at a crossroads where her star is rising and her ambitions and hard work can catapult her up with this opportunity she has.

It speaks a lot to the dynamic between men and women in relationships, if the woman has a bigger career than the man. Joe here, even portrayed as the nicest of men, reacts poorly and has to check his ego and learn to go all in on supporting Christine, even with parts of her job that is less savory to him- namely her hypersexualization in her huge Game of Thrones-level TV show and having to do love scenes. This had more nuance, so Joe's egregious behavior when they fought seemed an understandable flaw and they worked past it, even resolving in a happy ending for him and her in their long lasting HEA relationship.
