If you examine the cover to [a:A.R.K. Horton|20654021|A.R.K. Horton|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1609383945l/56486785._SX50_.jpg|86068807] and [b:Flirting With the Tempest|57560645|Flirting With the Tempest|A.R.K. As you might be able to tell after looking at these covers, the final book in Horton's trilogy is a darker, more mature book than its predecessors. While this is far from bleak, it does deal with loss, growth and villains willing to win by any means necessary.

As the final entry in The Telverin Trilogy, this book is the perfect length for the story being told, and it slowly builds to a wonderful crescendo that feels completely earned.

The characters are brought to life wonderfully. While most of these characters are known to anybody who has read the first book, there are some new faces which further serve this book and its emotional resonance.

While the book focuses on its characters and their emotions, the fantasy elements are handled wonderfully throughout the book, and in some particularly fun ways in the third act as it moves to its climax.

Highly recommended. My full review will be posted to WAStanley.com prior to release.
