Read for a book club, that's the only reason why this wasn't a dnf. How was it so many pages and nothing really happened??

This dragged for me - very character focused but I didn’t really like the characters enough to care. I kept hoping something would happen and while big, universe-scale things happened, I wasn’t invested.

What a beautifully heartbreaking story. This brought me so close to tears and that rarely happens to me with books.

Due to recommendation of book-tuber picking up this book was a brilliant choice. The story with backdrop of music present in it is incredibly poetic simultaneously. The themes and story goes dark places suddenly but it is also extremely melancholic. The characters go through the wringer and then also its extremely beautifully written with the prose being one of the best. The book might be around 400 pages but it develops and builds each of the characters and plot perfectly on point. Must read for anyone interested to pick a standalone science fiction book for the year.

Accidentally devoured it in one three and a half hour sitting, oops, because the prose is beautiful and felt like someone was telling you a story around a campfire, effortlessly weaving together seemingly disaparate characters over several years. I do wish there had been less of a time skip but that's because I enjoy seeing how found families are forged.

I’ve never had a book grip me so tightly while it completely tore me apart. I’ve actually never had a book evoke such strong emotions from me.

By the end of this book I was sobbing so heavily I had to pause and wipe my eyes in order to see the pages properly.

Their world became my world and not once while I was reading did my attention waver. I was dialed in every time I started reading.

I will think about this story for a long, long time. And I’ll probably cry about it for a long time too.
