A Tail of Two Kitties

I am not okay. My heart is broken for Kaede. Why just why?!?!? Despite my broken heart though, this book was amazing. I dont know if I could survive Kaede losing another person she loves though.

The FMC Kaede continued to be incredibly immature, and her selfishness really grated on my nerves. Similar to other reviews, I was not a fan of the decision to suddenly kill off
Spoilerone of her lovers
. It came out of nowhere and was super unnecessary. Her inability to tell apart the two twins for the entire book was unbelievable and very frustrating behavior. The plot with the gods was complete chaos, and I didn't understand the point of introducing Freya's chariot kitty shifters as students to the school. Their character development was brief and one-dimensional. Not to kink shame, but all the smut scenes could have come out of a porno film, and it didn't really read like a proper romance to me. Lastly, the academy setting was mostly there for convenience, and no one except for the core harem and antagonists and a few teachers were fleshed out as any kind of character. Kaede literally called any other students she interacted with "Other Student" - they didn't even warrant a real name.

The story and cast were a hot mess tbh, and I don't think I'll continue with the series if another book ever comes out.

Funny and a great read

Very amusing series. The main character is finally growing up which is good because her whiny alcoholic ways were beginning to get on my nerves. Great series overall with plenty of laughs
