Killer Keys

This is my absolute favorite book of the series! I like Fred but in previous books her waffling and indecisiveness got on my nerves. This book was the Fred I’ve wanted! This was a great mystery and I love how this series is growing. This is a must read series, especially if you love cozy mysteries!
mysterious fast-paced

I'm enjoying the long story of the villainous family lurking in the background....can't wait to see what happens next

So good! Love the latest development of relationships. Also the recurring themes tying to Fred's father's death.

Book 10! It being in a completely new place was pretty refreshing! Things are beginning to unravel in the grand scheme of things, however, good things are also happening on between! Really enjoyed this next installment, starting the next one soon!

Another great book

Another story that kept me guessing from the start. Love the characters and settings of this series. Can't wait to read the next book.

We have a new puppy in the house, so it took me a while to read it as I couldn't keep my eyes open. I still love this series. If you like cozy mysteries, these are good ones.

A great twist on the traditional murder mystery. A party of people staying in a remote location get stranded by a blizzard and then someone turns up dead. The twist in this story is where the series plot is developing and I will not divulge anymore than that. I do have to say the the writing about Watson is so true to breed that I keep getting pulled further into this series because this grumpy Corgi has won a spot in my heart.

Killer Keys by Mildred Abbott is a twisty-turvy ride of figuring out who-dun-it while celebrating an anniversary and having fun with being stuck in a blizzard.

A blizzard, two killers, and a whole Inn full of suspects? Fred is in way over her head.

Winifred Page
Fred is once again on the case. Well, even if she doesn't want to this time. Everyone assumes that she will take it, and her uncles wanted this done and out of the way. Fred is an excellent sleuth and even better when Susan wants her help. Susan is also helping her out! That's right Officer Susan Green is being kind of nice. Even Fred, herself, is having a hard time putting the pieces of this one together. It's just so farfetched all of it.

What I like about Fred in this one is that she is trying her best to figure things out despite having a hard time connecting all the clues. It also doesn't help that not a lot of the "suspects" are helpful.

The Mystery
Another doozy of a crime. Two murders in one place not all that far apart. It doesn't help Fred or Susan out very much. They figured out the first murder of the German exchange worker Luca, and I did as well. But then another murder happens and this one is very bizarre. It brings around a lot of things that make it impossible and connect a lot of people that probably shouldn't be connected. See doozy. Along with a lot of red herrings to fish through.

Five Stars Killer Keys by Mildred Abbott
Killer Keys by Mildred Abbott is an insanely well-written book that it had me guessing. I didn't get who-dun-it, and I still don't get it. Hopefully, Fred is handling this better than I am. Another one worthy of five stars for Mildred Abbott, and I can't wait for the next books. I might even go back to reading the first few.

Don't forget to check out the recipe in the back for Baldpate Inn's Cornbread recipe.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy from the Great Escapes Book Tours. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

Winifred "Fred" Page, her friends, her family, and her corgi Watson are gathered at the Baldpate Inn to celebrate her uncles' anniversary. However, when two people are killed, solving the mystery is hampered by the blizzard that has taken down all communication and left Fred, her "Scooby Gang" and Detective Susan Green have to solve the murder on their own.

This is another great episode in the Cozy Corgi book series. The ratio of mystery to character development is perfect in this one, and the relationships between the characters is what makes the book(s) great.
