Cheesy in many ways so full of warmth this book will make you laugh and smile all throughout.
I first read this book quite some years ago as a teen, now slightly older the story of Alex and Rosie growing up from children through their adult life hits me a bit harder. There are still many experiences they go through I haven't yet, but stories about how to apply for jobs felt amusingly real to me.
Written through emails, letters and all other forms of communication this story provides its characters with a lot of personality and makes them feel real. Although at times long, I appreciate the book taking its time to let the story play out instead of rushing it to a conclusion.
Although I do not like all of Cecelia Ahern's books, and I never fully understood how P.S. I love you is so liked, this book will definitely always stay in my top romance books. It's funny, cute, heartfelt and shows many more aspects of love in its story than just the romantic kind.
If you like romances I definitely recommend this one, because despite it's length it's a heartwarming read.

What a disappointment this was. I usually hate books set up like this (with it taking years and years and years to reach the resolution you want), and had I known, I probably would have just skipped it. Here's hoping the movie is better!
I just Dnf, cause i was frustrated the whole time, i mean just kiss and fuck, and it solves all the book.
LOVED IT! Interesting format through letters, emails, and instant messages.
This review was originally posted on Blackbeak BooksBased on the covers, synopsis, movie, everything, I thought this will be a book I'll love. Sadly, it turned out the opposite of that.I was very excited when February came and with it the time to read Love, Rosie as Bibliophile Academy's book of the month. I waited anxiously to finally start it. I've seen nothing but praise for this book and while I'm usually not one to be excited about overhyped books, this one interested me.The writing style was something else. The whole book was in text messages, emails, snail mails, phone conversations, IMs and everything else but live speech. This was my favorite thing in the whole book, and generally this was why I didn't rate it lower. It was very interesting to tell basically a whole life with these small insights into the everydays. It was one of the most original books I have ever read. But sadly, the positive list of things ended here.My biggest issue was that they basically wasted their whole life by failing to properly communicate with each other. They supposed to be best friends, yet they didn't share their biggest secrets - namely, that they were in love with each other. Alex was always too late to the party, so to say and whenever I thought that it's FINALLY happening, they're getting together, they just dug themselves deeper into their secrets. Rosie was an overall frustrating character, very naive all the time, not only in her teen years. Their timing was just off, big time and mostly their whole life went by before they got their sh*t together.Love, Rosie was very slow. There were a lot of letters/etc that were unnecessary to the story and were only there to fill up the space and drag the book on. Because it was a long book. Too long. It could've been wrapped up in 200 but 300 pages at max. I also couldn't connect with any of the characters, they fell flat for me.Overall, Love, Rosie didn't become a new favorite. The writing was good and creative, but the characters frustrated me to no end. If you are a fan of chick lits, I'm sure this will be a hit with you, but to me, the book missed that something that makes me fall in love with stories. Oh and this is one of the few exceptions, where the movie was better.
Have you read Love, Rosie? If yes, what did you think? Do you agree or disagree with me?

One of the rare cases where the movie is much better than the book.
This was a fun, easy read. I really enjoyed the way it was written through letters, emails, chat room conversations, etc. The characters were quirky and the various plot lines of their lives were interesting to read from beginning to end. The overarching story of Rosie and Alex and their unrequited love reminded me of the book One Day by David Nicholls. Not a bad read.
