3.5 | It’s been at least a year since I read volume one but I slipped right back in. Faith is irreverent, relatable but cool, and the narrative blocks are charming. My only complaint is the heavy handed nerdom pandering. From her Boba Fett alarm clock to the Penny! Penny! Penny! shirt it felt too... it’s trying very hard. I did love the signing booth “cameos” at the con though. Look forward to volume 3 tomorrow.

3.5 stars. MUCH better than first one...may have to read The Renegades...still not as hooked or emotionally involved as I wanted to be though :/

Just because you know who you are doesn't mean the world sees you the same way. I guess I never really fit the mold. The things I like, the way I look.

Faith is one of those serials that makes me smile. The way she thinks, the way she's drawn (this. so much this.), the way she expresses herself.
And I was OK with that. I was happy with who I was. At the end of the day, you got to where you are for a reason, right?

There's both a realness and a positivity about her that makes you want to spend time in her company. If she's solving a crime at a Comic Con, that's just a bonus.
That's not to say you should never change. You should always work to do better, be better. But make sure that what you're trying to be is the best version of yourself.

Love her.

The plot was definitely an improvement since the first installment! I especially enjoyed the convention visit and Faith's nerdiness, even though she is a superhero herself.

I love the idea of this series, and some of the illustrations are really great. But I just don't feel that strongly about the story. The nerdy references are fun, but a bit...much/forced sometimes. I'll read the next volume if I hear good things, but otherwise I might leave this series for a while n

This volume of Faith was what I was hoping for in the first volume. A character with a meta-commentary inner-monologue who loves pop culture and saving people, does her best Superman trope by trying to be a mild mannered reporter in disguise.

There are really two different stories in this volume, 1: Never Meet Your Heroes, Lest They Become Supervillains; and 2.) How To Behave At A Comic Con.

I much preferred the second story, as it really could serve as a guide to how to navigate the cosplay and collectibles communities without being a toxic shitmonster. There's also a robbery angle, and a bonus Faith, which are fun, but the How To Behave angle is woven perfectly throughout.

The first story isn't bad, but it's clearly a setup for a larger story coming up in the run. I'm not sure how interested I am. But I will say it feels like some of the early set-up arcs of [b:Invincible, Vol. 1: Family Matters|214867|Invincible, Vol. 1 Family Matters|Robert Kirkman|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1288076032l/214867._SY75_.jpg|5238594], so I'm not writing it off, either.

This is one of the better Valiant series that I've read so far. I'm sort of dreading that, to truly follow the Valiant Universe chronology, I have to take a short break to read the much less whelming [b:A&A: The Adventures of Archer & Armstrong, Volume 2: Romance & Road Trips|31338824|A&A The Adventures of Archer & Armstrong, Volume 2 Romance & Road Trips|Rafer Roberts|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1474508569l/31338824._SY75_.jpg|52013518]. Fingers crossed that the inclusion of Faith can elevate that title. I'm not sure the inclusion of Archer has elevated this series, but it hasn't dragged it down.

I <3 Faith! She's the best and most chill superhero.

Me ha gustado más que el volumen 1. Más coherente, menos repetitivo, con dibujo muy potente de la mano de Pere Pérez.

I absolutely loved the first volume of this new story! However, I’m not exactly sure how I felt about this one. Faith is still an awesome super hero, and I love her to death; my issues were more with the storyline/direction of this comic than with the characters.

There were so many things I still totally loved about this volume such as Faith, herself, as well as all her friends and how she handles situations. I thought there was a great deal of character development in this volume and enjoyed seeing Faith grow as a person and branch out with her friendships. Also, the budding relationship towards the end was great. I can’t wait to read more of this comic because of all this awesome-sauce stuff going on.

But then there were the not so great things about this volume that I can’t ignore. I thought the storyline choice was interesting, but not something solid enough to build an entire story arc around. I did overall enjoy the concept but more-so didn’t like the execution. It felt a bit less put together to me and the plot lines felt stretched/almost over-reached for. I’m not exactly sure how to get my feelings out in words, but something just felt…off. I can’t say exactly what, but here is where I think it comes in the execution for me. I felt that the plot line was handled in a strange way that didn’t sit right with me. That’s as much detail as I can muster to go into, as the words feel like they’re escaping me, and, for me, it was more of an off-putting feeling than anything I can directly form into words.

So, wrapping things up, overall I still definitely recommend this comic! If you liked the first, chances are you’ll like this one. And, if you haven’t started reading yet, please do! This is a great story that deserves more attention than it gets.

I couldn’t say why, but I liked this volume considerably more than the first.
