Probably closer to 3.5 stars. Nice easy read on a long weekend. Spend time with the sweet and quirky good hearted people of Mason, Missouri as they lean into each other with their everyday worries and deeper troubles. Received a complimentary ARC through netgalley.
The comfort-read equivalent of a pie cooling on the windowsill.

This was sweet and well done. It knows what it is even if what it is is just a little bit boring. The point is to be cozy.
A nice addition to this series. Maddy is back and the confession club was a fun new twist.
I’m not sure why my book club chose a book in the middle of the series, but I am sure that it made the characters feel undeveloped.
One of the worst books I've read.. I'm not even sure what the title really has to do with the plot itself. The premise has potential and it was so scattered. Too many unnecessary characters and story lines, most not wrapped up or concluded.
2.5⭐️
I think I just waited too long between books to read this one because by the time I got to the third book in this series, I just didn’t care about any of the characters anymore.
I will say the writing was fast paced and I flew through this book in a matter of hours.
However I felt like all of the characters were very two dimensional and you never really got to get inside of their heads or feel what they were really feeling. Everything was very surface level, even when it was supposed to be a deep and poignant moment. I just never felt any strong emotions while reading this book (or the whole series) except for boredom.
