So stunningly written, so emotively impactful and so SO important when, despite the book being set in the 1990s, there are so many topics that are still so relevant and issues that are still happening today.
As a child of the 1990s, I adored all the references - they totally took me back! The cast of supporting characters were so wonderful, especially Beth and utter ICON Mrs C!!
I also thank Simon James Green for all the Library/Librarian love ❤️❤️❤️

SJG’s writing never gets on well with my taste, but i powered through this one because i genuinely cared about the characters and genuinely hated section 28. it was shocking how it all applies to the transphobia of today. history will always repeat itself.

I cried so hard reading this book. It is an important book and the topic is now as important as it was then!!!! YeS cArEn, THIS IS WHY WE NEED THE PRIDE PARADES AND THE PRIDE MONTH. WE'RE LOUD! WE'RE HERE! WE'RE QUEER!! I feel like this too♡
