Everybody, READ THIS BOOK! It's
painful (and enraging!) at times, but also funny, endearing, heartfelt and hopeful. I think the blend of genres worked very well too. The only thing that pulled this down from a 5-star rating, was that I thought the pacing was a little uneven – it slowed down a little too much in the middle, in my opinion. But despite that, I do think it's an excellent book, and I highly recommend it.

The most important book I have read this year. Learn from history! School Librarians rock! Find your love your way!

It feels like there is a lot of Simon in this book and between this, the similarities to current society and the amazing relationship between Jamie and Rob…I was hooked! Definitely essential reading and a book that must be stocked in school libraries everywhere!

This book is phenomenal, I couldn't put it down. I sobbed so much- even though I was in high school a couple of years after section 28 was outlawed, its aftermath still affected many queer teens like myself. Vitally important book about a dark (and overlooked) point in time but with Simon James Green's iconic hope and passion. I honestly hugged the book when I finished it.
