I enjoyed it but I felt it was too short for a mystery novel - some characters were exactly as they seemed and the mysteries/links were only 1 investigation deep. Still enjoyable though and I liked Moncrieff’s writing style

As a theatre lover, this festive murder mystery was the perfect fast-paced, cosy read to start the year.

We are introduced to a cast of intriguing characters who all have their own secrets to hide. The identity of the murderer kept me guessing until the end, even though I thought I'd worked it out a few times!

A great start to my 2023 reading year!

I think that Ada Moncrieff writes entertaining historical mysteries that pays homage to the Golden Age authors.
This one was entertaining and I liked the descriptions of the theatre world and the solid mystery
I wasn't a fan of Daphne who can be a bit irritating at times but I appreciated her strength.
The style of writing reminded me of the Golden Age novels and the pace is one of a classic mystery
Recommended.
