Slightly biased with the five star rating because finally the Garde are together (minus Five) and, well, Nine.

For some reason, I didn't get as much out of this book compared to the last one. It is a common plot device to separate characters and have part of the main conflict in the book being if they can somehow find their way back to each other. I have never been a big fan of this type of conflict, because they inevitably find their way back together, and meanwhile, the character we want to be together are apart from each other.

That said, separating the characters allowed Four to get to know Nine better, and we got better insight into Six and Seven with them both as narrators. I still felt like this book was more of a set-up for future books and not enough happened besides a few mindless battles and the introduction of a few more numbers.

This book was ah-mazing! Seriously. One of my favourite ever book series. I reckon the only flaw in this book was...
SARAH! She is so annoying! ...Why is she still even in the series?! I understand why she was there in the first book, lots of books have the hero/heroine start off with a cute but boring person and end up with a a hot and badass person. Like Gallagher Girls, for example.
But this isn't Gallagher Girls. I was so mad when Sarah "called the cops on them" and when she begged him to stay behind and turn himself in to the police, because what's more important, having your boyfriend back for a few minutes, and then to watch him killed, or the survival of him and his own race? Puh-lease. She needs to get her priorities in check.
When Sarah returned in this book, I was really pissed, because she's such a lame and boring character! Why can't he end up with Six who can save she can protect herself and others around her.
I'm sorry, I feel like I'm getting carried away with my hatred of Sarah, but do read. It's such a good book! It was full of suspense and when there was the battle at the end I was gripping the book so hard I didn't know how it didn't get permanentally damaged. This series gives you an exhilerating experience and it takes you around the world in a race to find the other Garde members before the Mogadorians do.
