Super interesting listen about abandoned places, I really enjoyed the chapters about Chernobyl and Scotland!

Absolutely fascinating! I bored people stupid for weeks with all the stories of how we truly mess our environment up, but how remarkably it recovers. A really good read, that’s SO well written. Thoroughly recommended.

Loss, hope, humanity, nature, history, all mixed in wonderful writing. Islands of Abandonment is about the silver lining in desolate places, the resilience and recovery of nature and the people living there.
Flyn visits many different places in the world, with many different causes. By exploring the sites, she explores the history of that site but also brings in similar places and circumstances.
A gem of a book, or should I say an epicormic shoot in times of dying wood.

Absolutely excellent in content and writing style. Wonderfully lyrical and talking about the most important issue of our time.
