I bought this as an audiobook because they work well for a sleepless person. Was intrigued by the fact that it's the author himself who reads it. Makes you relax when you're a pedant like me, because you just know that pronunciations and dialects are exactly as the author wants them!
I rather liked inspector Thorne (this is my first book by Billingham) and will definitely revisit. Having lived in the UK, I felt very much at home in the environment of the book. I like it that we're not dealing with gruesome quadruple murders, but with ONE crime which Thorne then doggedly sets out to solve - those are my favourite crime novels.

First I have read of Mark Billingham's but I enjoy his characters. Will read another for sure.
Fast paced, exciting and engaging - short time frame, but clever writing.
