I felt like there was a lot more potential for the characters to grow and also just have more developed personalities to begin with. It focuses a lot on each of their “main problems/situations” even though there is a whole lot more going on. beginning was tough to get into because it hit a little too close to home but overall it was a decent read!

I have heard great reviews of this book. I was disappointed with this book. The book moved slowly, I did not like the plot, and it was hard for me to like some of the characters of the story. Some of the characters like Birdie and Porter annoyed me and got on my nerves. Overall, I would not recommend this book.

I normally love “family dramas” eg books where you join a family for a few weeks as they navigate something.
This one was just so-so as a story, but I did enjoy the writing and found myself highlighting a couple of quotes.
I do think this would be a good book club selection as there would be a lot to talk about and discuss

I really enjoyed reading about these characters. There was a LOT going on in this book and I think it could have (should have?) gone deeper on any one of the many topics it covered. I could see this book becoming a TV series. It had the makings of a "Parenthood" or something similar.
This was a fun and enjoyable book. The story was great, but (totally my opinion) had so many separate characters and storylines that some of the characters seemed to just drift in and out of the story. That being said, it’s a great book for these nice summer days!
Finished this ages ago, remember that it was entertaining enough, but didn't love it.
