I love a book that dives deep into the characters especially when it’s all about a family and their messiness and loving one another in it all.

Not my favorite.
It was like the author had a checklist of current hot-topic issues to wrap into the story, regardless of whether they worked with the plot. The most grating was probably the persistent dead-naming of the trans character.

Felt a little two-dimensional at times, but sweet. A nice addition to my pride month reading.

A mother doing the very best that she can. I loved this book for very personal reasons.

After witnessing the bus accident that kills her acquaintance, Astrid Strick realizes how short life really is.

I'm a big fan of books where the plot revolves around families, ordinary people, and their lives, like this book is. Emma Straub is a very talented and gifted writer who delivered such a great family story, spicing it with a bit of humor every now and then. Her characters are realistic and funny, and become very likable only after a few chapters of reading this novel. Some of the topics are transgenderism, homosexuality, abortion, and bullying. I liked the message that "All Adults Here" sends to its readers; loyalty, understanding, appreciation of the differences, and most importantly, love.
