Oh Anne Tyler, you've done it again. I don't think I've disliked any of her books, or even rated them "average." I enjoyed these "short stories" that told a big story about the Garrett family. Great character development, great writing and, even though it is sad at times, a great story.

This made me cry - I've never read something that captures the beauty of the mundane so well, yet isn't boring. I felt I knew every character, and was so reassured by the wide view of the family and the changes that time has on a person.

Too many characters, not enough action, I’d skip this one if I were you.

This is a quiet, beautiful novel about what it means to be a family.
