Another really easy read for the summer!

Holiday rom-com. Audiobook. 2.5 stars. Supposed to be a feel good Christmas story, but really didn’t have a plot…

The story itself was very basic but listening to this audiobook was excruciating. The man who does the voice of Palmer was awful.

inspiring lighthearted fast-paced

This is just what you expect from a Debbie Macomber read, a story that will have you rooting for the main character and that leaves you feeling happy and content. Josie went to Alaska to get experience running a kitchen before moving on to her dream job, running the kitchen of a 'celebrity' chef's new restaurant. She never expected to meet Palmer. Was she willing to give up her dream to stay in Alaska? Could Palmer find a way for Josie to have both her dream and him? A story of finding out what is truly important that is a perfect weekend read.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing an ARC for my honest review.

Cute “Hallmark” type romance. Story is predictable but is nice for a quick lighthearted read.

I didn’t enjoy the audio version of this book. The male narrators voice bothered me and his voice of Jack sounded like Scooby Doo.  I may have enjoyed the physical book more.

I felt the storyline and characters were very stagnant and surface level with a little far fetched thrown in. Palmer is a swordsmith?! What?! Palmer and Josie fall in love in a couple months and somehow they  have a conversation that talks about people of the opposite sex?! How old are they? 12? There was just no development of any kind. It just seemed like after 5 minutes these characters were supposed to be fully developed and it just didn’t work out that way. Josie meets Angie one time and by the end of the second time they’re crying because they are gonna kiss each other so much. Very hard to believe. I ended up caring nothing for the characters or the plot.

Very festive and romantic story. Hearing the Northern Lights and getting a firsthand look of life on the tundra. Palmer and Josie are a beautiful couple.
