Gavin(Tank) and Petra have been friends for 6 years with Petra drooling over him pretty much the whole time and Tank thinking she's just being silly. The guys point out to him that she is actually serious about being attracted to him and Amber convinces Petra she needs to make the first move.
Gavin is the giant walking marshmallow of this band of guys and has the healthiest approach to his mental health, he started therapy the day he enlisted because he had seen the side effects of PTSD, etc on most of his relatives throughout his life.
Petra is a free spirit, always happy until her past comes back to haunt her and we find out she isn't who we thought she was. Both MC's are very direct people.
This story took a slightly darker turn than the rest of them, and the timeline seems a bit funky at times(I thought it was jumping around but apparently it was just leaping forward a lot). Tank and Petra just sort of calmly slide from friends to lovers with no drama or stress from either of them which was different from all the other relationships in this series as well.
