This book is about three unlikeable characters based on a ridiculous premise.
I’ll start by pointing out that it was obvious from the beginning that she would choose Sam so all of the fake agonising over the choice and her internal dilemmas was all very moot.
Emma basically lets herself be defined by other people for the majority of the book, even when she pretends she isn’t. I would have loved to see an ending where she didn’t end up with either of them but here we are. The events in this book happen to her and she just lets it.
Sam is giving incel from the beginning and doesn’t really get much better from there. He’s one of her best friends but just ghosts her completely once she starts dating another guy? Cmon man.
Jesse basically tells Emma what she wants and what she likes and that somehow works for their ten year relationship?
Anyway. Didn’t really care who ended up with who (partly because it was obvious who it would be and partly because I didn’t like any of them) and this story was so surface level that even the plot didn’t even really fully engage me. TJR’s works have definitely come a long way since this one.

I loved Evelyn Hugo and this one was just as much of a quick read! Good writing for a romance and it kept my attention
