The Cruel Prince lives up to its title. It’s delightfully wicked and fun and full of twists.
I love Jude. She’s such a different leading character to what I mostly ready.
I definitely recommend this book. The only reason it’s not 5 stars is that I couldn’t really get into it in the beginning but couldn’t put it down towards the end.
I think it was really, really hyped too. Definitely worth going into with an open mind and not thinking too much about others opinions.

i really liked the politics/ world building and jude is a BADASS main charachter i will say it till the day i die. carden is an ass and will probably continue to be one!! oak is like a little cutie baby who i want to protect madoc is uh BLOODTHIRSTY but also he did provide a stable home for jude and taryn and teach them to fight. i also kinda liked how the whole book built up to the final coranation where carden got crowned and baelkin finally gets put away. very good read highly reccomend!

Seriously I don’t get the hype at all. Idk maybe I have read this book in the worst time of my life. Every single time I thought it’s gonna get interesting it gets blah. It’s way too predictable for my taste. I also hated Cardan’s character! His reason of hating Jude wasn’t valid enough. It felt forced enemies back story wasn’t that interesting enough to be that type of a jerk towards her.
I didn’t see the Locke pilot twist though. Sisterhood/ twin betrayal wasn’t pleasant to read at all.I also seriously think Taryn is such a meek annoying character!
I usually like to read political fantasy series but this was so basic idk! Maybe Holly Black writing isn’t for me! I didn’t like the way she explained the world too I don’t have any mental picture at all.
Jude is also annoying AF! But she has balls I give her that. I liked when her life was getting interesting in the beginning then what she did in the end make it interesting pilot from her character. I am excited for the character development but still not so much fan of her.
Oak part ,who actually oak was, definitely the most surprising part for me in the whole ass book lol I probably only love Vivi in the book she seems only reasonable one.
I might have so much expectation because of booktok/bookstagram. Well, I am gonna read the whole series though I already invested in the storyline and bought all the books lol At least I have curiosity towards it!
Last 50 pages I have felt… I was like ugh I already know what’s gonna happen why am I reading this again!? Pilot twist wasn’t twisting at all. Literally saw it from the beginning!
Again don’t like Cardan at all lol I knew it from the beginning what he meant to be and why he was the way he is! I was really over it and didn’t see his inner world at all maybe that’s why I don’t have any connection towards the character. I just wanna know more about him though and his tail
