For those who have read the ACOTAR series of Sarah J. Maas, as I did, you will certainly compare them with this smaller series of which this is the first book.
There are quite some similarities with ACOTAR, like this book also mentions Courts (like Court of Shadows), High King (instead of Hugh Lord) and Houses of ...
The book has a great storyline, with lots of events which succeed in short periods of time.
Big difference is that ACOTAR is more or less focused on wars, this book is not. However it doesn't lack of any violence... Where ACOTAR involves around warriors, this books is written around sisters and princes.
All in all a very nice alternative next to ACOTAR: I will definitely read the sequels of this series.
