Didn't get bored as much it felt like a slog.
Might try again but reading a physica  copy rather than an audio edition.

A cute magical tale.

I enjoyed the fast paced nature of this book. It kept my interest. The characters were believable and the plot worked. The only thing I would say against it is the are instances where the time does not make sense. For example, at the beginning of the book, the action sequence takes place in the morning. Shortly after the narrative mentions it being afternoon and then shortly after that it says it is still morning, all of the same day. Need to make sure all the details line up and make sense. I noticed some thing similar later on as well. Overall, a good start t a new series though. I hope book 2 measures up and we get to know these characters even better.

The Lost Heir by E.G. Foley – This magical world with Victorian steampunk vibes is probably going to interest your 10+ middle grade reader more than your younger ones. But if they like a little spooky and a lot of action, they will like Jake! Happy Reading!

One of the reviews I read about this book elsewhere said that if you’re a fan of Harry Potter, you’ll like this book. It was definitely true to me! Well written, great and unique characters and plot, great setting, and I loved the humor too. I definitely want to read the rest of the series!

This is the first book in The Gryphon Chronicles. This is my second book by Foley, and I've loved both.

Great action throughout. Great plot. Wonderful characters. It's a light, whimsical read. A real page turner.
