Luxens are now the bad guys... errr, I mean,really bad aliens?! This is a 360 degrees shift on what I believe! I read the Luxen Series, and Daemon Black is nothing like Senator Vanderson, a Luxen who is apparently a power hungry Alien?! I shook my head in disbelief. But then, this is something new... and something new is always good! I'm dying of curiosity here ... and well, just look at the cover?! If Arums are hot like Hunter... I'll definitely check him out! lol. ( and my fangirl radar is telling me , I found the right alien! ) And he is like my fave triple chocolate brownie... Indulgent. Illegal. Mouth-watering! ( Now , why I'm even talking about food?! )
When Serena witnessed her friend being killed / burned / zapped to death by something inhuman, her life turned upside down. Now she knows we are not alone in this earth! That knowledge can get her killed! And she knows something that could compromise Luxens' existence ,moreover that the Luxen in question holds a high position in the government. So, when Serena was attacked and almost got killed by a Luxen.... A sexy, smoldering, hot Arum came into the picture and rescued her! Holy smokes, hot chilies , hot tamales Hunter! I feel already intoxicated and dizzy just looking at him! I can't even imagine what has been playing on Serena's mind when she saw these two aliens fighting over her?! Fascinated...?! Uhhh.. Nope! More like scared to death?!
So she ended up under the Department of Defense or the DOD's witness protection program. And who could better protect her from the powerful Luxens but an equally well equipped Arum? Ending up with her "baby sitter" Hunter was never easy for both of them. Hunter is a natural predator... and Serena is one distracting, inviting prey on his plate! Remember, Arum feeds on both Luxen and humans! I love love it when he tried feeding on Serena! It's way sexy! Way sexier than a vampire sucking your blood! ( oh, how could that sound so wrong! Haha! ) And.. Hunter wants to uhmmm.. play with his food?! ...and he's way..way good! ( with his hands ...his mouth?! uh oh?! I forgot to tell you, this ones not for the kids! No..no.. Cover your eyes!! Hunter = Hot.. hot.. hot!!! Having Hunter around , Serena's gonna end up either on his plate or his bed?! Uh-oh. I won't complain either way! Haha.
I also love their verbal exchanges. So much snarks with JL Armentrout's touch! It was really good! And I love Serena when she goes feisty and Hunter's uhmmm.. commanding presence! See the combination? When together, they simmer! When they touch... they burn! Sizzle.. sizzle!!
When the action starts... Boy! It was like an action packed movie scene! I can almost imagine myself watching them fight! The blows, the kicks... everything is just WOW!!! I'm clapping my hands for JLA!!! Never a dull moment! I kept on guessing what will happen next! One thing's sure , never mess with an Arum ... never ever touch what was his! Specially Serena... because Hunter will kill and take them down one by one!
I love the ending. It's not a cliffhanger but gave a me something to look forward to! I discovered something big! Clue: A conspiracy that will threaten human existence. JL Armentrout did it again! Now, all I have to do is wait for the next great book to come!

Obsession does take place in the same world that Katy and Daemon inhabit, Obsession is more mature, definitely targeted toward the older crowd. It’s an adult romance, so you know what that means.

I frowned. “Well, I am. Things are kind of… messed up. And you knocked me out. And you’re half naked—”
“Have you looked in the mirror?” he cut in. “You’re just as naked as I am. And I didn’t throw anything at your head.”
Glancing down at myself, I cringed. Somehow I’d forgotten that I was in my shirt and undies. Flushing all over again, I wanted to dart behind something, but I folded my arms. “I didn’t throw anything at your head. I was—”
“Do you always overreact like this?”
Oh my God, if he interrupted me one more time I was going to throw something at his head. “I woke up in a strange place, kidnapped by an alien. I can’t even believe I’m explaining why I overreacted. What were you doing in my room anyway?”
He mimicked my stance. “Correction: this is my house and therefore this is my room. Not that I need to explain myself, I was checking to make sure everything was secure outside.”
“But you did kidnap me.”
“I did not.”
I threw up my hands. “What’s all this? Where am I?”
“West Virginia.”
My mouth dropped open. Oh, my God, this couldn’t be happening. “I’m in a different time zone? Are you fuc—”
Hunter threw up his hand, silencing me. The tip of my tongue literally burned to lay into him. “What the hell is that noise?”
Before I could respond, he stalked past the bed and entered the bathroom.
“Jesus! What are you trying to do in here?” His voice carried from the bathroom. “Giving the floor a bath?” he demanded.
I searched desperately for my jeans, but came up empty.
Hunter returned, hands on his hips. Too late. “Seriously?”
“I forgot I turned the faucet on. Geez, you’re grumpy.”
“And you’re already turning out to be a huge pain in my thigh.”
“Look, I’m really sorry about that. Okay? I’ve been through some really traumatic events here recently and yes, I might have overreacted.” I struggled with my patience. “And I really would just like to know where my pants are.”
“Your pants were folded on the corner of the bed. You probably knocked them on the floor.”
What? I wanted to check, but I so wasn’t bending down in my panties in front of him. “And how did they get off me and folded on the bed?”
“I did it. Thought you’d be more comfortable.”
Oh geez, I had no idea what to think about that. A thank you so wasn’t in order though. He did undress me while I was unconsciousness for crying out loud. My entire body felt red-hot. “I’m not going to say thank you for that.”
“Not like I’d expect that common courtesy from you,” he replied, his pale eyes dancing… with what? Anger? Amusement? “After all you never thanked me for saving your ass—a pretty ass at that. So I can add inconsiderate to your glowing list of attributes. Put that right next to: overreacts, acts first and then thinks, drama—”
“Oh, go fuc–”
“You do not want to finish that sentence,” Hunter warned. His voice low enough to send warning shivers down my spine.

JLA has done it again bringing us a story that wraps you up from beginning to end and keeps you wanting more! If you are a fan of the Luxen world then you know that this book from the Luxen world but told from an Arum POV, and not just nay Arum, its from Hunter, one of the most powerful and hottest of his kind. Kinda like another alien we know and love, who makes a very small appearance(sqee).

Omg AMAZING and so sexy! Hunter is just as hot if not alittle bit hotter then Daemon tho I still love him too and love that he made a cameo and I love there was a hint at what might happen in Origin.I really hope they'll be other books in the series cause I fell in love with it like I did with the Luz series
Daemon, please don’t hate me, but I think I’m obsessed with an Arum. As a fan of the Lux series, it should feel so wrong. After all, aren’t Arum evil? Well, in Obsession we learn there are two sides to every story, and not all things are black and white.
What I loved the most about Obsession (besides a new hot alien to crush on) is it really expands on the Luxen-Arum-verse. We didn’t know much about the Arum before, but there is so much we learn in this book, about the Arum, Luxen and DOD. This is definitely a good one for fans of the original series, but even if you haven’t read the Lux books you can still enjoy it as a standalone.
As good as the Lux Series
This was way more of an adult book then the lux series was. But I loved this story because we get to see the other side of the spectrum with a perspective of a Arum in this story. I also loved how there was a small connection in the story with the lux series because we know where the story is taking place in the lux series world.
