I thought this was a really interesting novel. It is a crime novel; something I don’t usually read but rather watch on television but this book did surprise me. It was well written and you can really tell that the author has worked in the industry. There is a lot of background information that I wasn’t privy too before having read the book.
The only reason I am giving this a 3-star instead of a 4-star read is the narration. Obviously this was an audiobook but I found myself getting lost at times because the two narrators who each depicted one perspective (Charlie’s and Erica’s) were two women with similar voices -but different intonations… I sometimes got lost as to WHO was narrating. Perhaps that is my ADHD but I would have preferred if the chapters were read “CHAPTER 23 - Erica”
Otherwise I really enjoyed this book :)

I really enjoyed the audiobook of this! I was very captivated by the storyline and I enjoyed the power dynamics between Charlie and Erika. What a great duo I must say!
The story flowed very well from start to finish, and through the narration you could really feel the impact and the suspense.
The ending was very unpredictable, I really did not expect the murderer to be who they found – I was leaning in a completely different direction
Good book. Liked the story and all the lawyer “DA” trial scenes.
Good legal mystery and I didn’t see that twist coming which made it even more enjoyable.

OMG this book was SOOOO good! I went into it knowing that I already loved the author and after reading her latest book I have to say I am still in love with her work! She does an amazing job laying out the story and sucking you into the characater's world! I could NOT put this one down and am eagerly awaiting her next book b/c I've already read her entire back-log of books!
