The problems I had with this book were: 1. I found Tuppence to be extremely annoying, to the point where I had to put down the novel for several months; 2. I predicted all of the ending twists.
This was the second Agatha Christie novel I have read and it seems that many claim this to be their least favorite of her novels. I hope this is true being that she is so popular, third to the Bible and Shakespeare.
When reading classics I try to come from the perspective of the time it was published. Meaning, the predictability to me may not have been so predictable to readers from the time of the publishing. I could see how The Secret Adversary may have been a thrilling read at one time. Unfortunately in the modern day, the same tactics and story line Christie used are now over used which leads to that predictability.

This was fun! Different from the typical Agatha Christie murder mystery. She kept me guessing until the very end and the characters were full of personality.
This was such a fun read with a great twist at the end. Tommy and Tuppence are two of my favourite characters.

This is completely unlike any Christie book I've ever read. It features not Herecule Poirot or Miss Marple but an energetic young duo named Tommy and Tuppence. In the stead of a murder mystery, this is a missing persons case. It's also a spy story more than a detective story. Jane Finn was given secret plans during World War I and the Commies are after her, even though the war is over.
The two young sleuths are mistake prone, which is very different from Christie's detectives. It's an interesting change. Or rather an interesting start. Published in 1922, this was only Dame Christie's second book (The Poirot mystery The Mysterious Affair at Styles was published in 1922) and I can see how she's still honing her skills. I thought that I had this one figured out early on, but fooled me in the end.
If you've not read any Christie, don't start here. If you're a Poirot veteran, this would be an interesting change of pace for you.
