I truly loved this book. It was very relatable on a few levels.

I got so sucked into the story of truly felt like there was an asteroid coming to earth for real. I did read this during the full eclipse tho . I loved Cass's character how free she was about who she was. I related heavily to the internal struggles of Avery. This book has me in tears from joy and sadness. I picked it up months ago, but something told me to read it right now and I'm so glad I did.  Beautiful.

Incredibly well written. One of few books that has made me cry.

There is some excellent prose on depression here, without being too hammy or self-help-y. It isn't therapy/education couched in story, it is story.

I don't think it quite hit me like it could have, maybe because I always find myself resentful of friends or partners that are so close that they seem to be speaking almost in physical code, like the rest of the world is somehow knitted outside them, even when they're not alone.

I was expecting a hang ending from about halfway through and I wasn't happy about that, but when it came... I dunno, I feel like the entire book is surrounded in a big stuff/small stuff flip, and that works, and makes sense. You can't change the big unassailable interstellar things, so they become your scenery far more than your story.

Might revisit some sections but don't expect to re-read.

The revenge-heist-without-any-expectation-of-consequences was a bit weird

this book is heartbreaking in the best possible way. Please read it, although be very careful of the trigger warnings and stay away if the topic of suicide would be triggering for you! Avery is so much and all her family and friends are the most wonderful people! The book’s emotive and metaphorical language was so beautiful and well done! FIVE F*CKING STARS!!!

I haven’t read a book that made me feel as much as this book did in a long time. The characters are well developed, the plot is compelling, and I had a hard fun putting it down.

This book was beautiful!! It’s a love story in so many ways; romantic, friendship, the love of family, self love, and so much more. The book starts with Avery getting interrupted from jumping in the river and ending her life with the news that an asteroid is headed to earth and there’s only 9 days left to live. The rest of the story is about not only trying to survive but being with the people she loves and also learning to accept herself and want to live. So much of this story is about allowing yourself to be known by people and coming to the realization that just because you don’t have a reason to be sad, doesn’t mean that you aren’t sad. It’s learning to accept that part of yourself and wanting to stay alive anyway. It’s learning that you don’t have to do things for a purpose, you can just do things because they make you happy and you can create beautiful things just for yourself. It’s realizing that it’s okay to stay just because you’re curious about what’s next and you don’t need to always be working to improve or be better, you’re allowed to just be! I’m normally not a fan
